Mass Effect: Miranda Lawson Body Paint

Next in the series is a character from the Mass Effect trilogy.

I had contacted Leeshe about modeling for the calendar because I really liked her look, and I thought she would be perfect for this role.

Not only does she look like Miranda, but she rocks that suit.

As always, you can see more on my facebook page. And don't forget to show Ally some love, too. She's been nailing it with these paint jobs!

Terminator Body Paint

This was the one I was most looking forward to. Ally's concept art for this was killer, and I could not wait to see it in actuality.

Ally and I were both so eager to see this one come to pass that we moved up the shoot an entire month, since neither of us could bear to wait any longer.

Obviously, a few of these involve no body paint. But Kayla and I figured we may as well have some fun with it. So here's our "abridged" version of the Terminator story.

Enjoy!

Have you seen this boy?

Arcee Body Paint

The average person may not know who Arcee is, but true fans of the Transformers are very familiar with her.

She was a major character in the 1986 animated movie. Any child who grew up in the 80's vividly recalls that movie since they KILLED OPTIMUS PRIME, thus scarring an entire generation of children.

I was excited to see how this one would turn out, and once again Ally did not disappoint.

Dr. Mrs. The Monarch Body Paint

This shoot was entirely for me. Honestly, I just wanted to see Dr. Mrs. The Monarch.

I love The Venture Bros and I also love working with Smurfasaur, who you may remember as R2D2 from my Star Wars Calendar Project. So this was something I wanted to do.

I think it's pretty awesome.

Sally Skellington Body Paint

Ally wanted to do Sally from "Nightmare Before Christmas" because she thought the pattern would look really good.

She was right.

Cheetara Body Paint

Let's be honest - like most men who grew up in the 80's, I was inexplicably attracted to Cheetara.

I watched Thundercats all the time, and Cheetara left an impression on me. And before you all laugh at me, I know I'm not alone. Cracked just wrote an article about "6 Pop Culture Icons Nobody Admits They Were Attracted To" and guess who made the list?

Of course, that meant I had to add her to the calendar.

More after the break.

Captain Planet Body Paint

Captain Planet. He's our hero!

I was nervous about adding Captain Planet to the project. I figured it would either be really awesome, or incredibly ridiculous. Luckily, it's pretty awesome.

Thanks in no small part to Ali's incredibly fit body and playful personality. She added just the right amount of cheese to an otherwise corny concept.

Chun Li Body Paint

Streetfighter has always been one of my all time favorite video games. I've never been very good at video games - I was always more of a "button masher" than anything else. So it should be no surprise that I often favored Chun Li as a character. She was fast (so I could avoid getting hit) and she had a killer lighting kick.

It was my only real chance at winning a match. Try to jump out of the way, and kick quickly and frequently.

When we were coming up with concepts for the calendar, I wanted to represent things that sum up who I am. I knew I wanted Chun Li in there somewhere.

So here's a teaser shot of Emily as Chun Li. Keep reading to see more.

Body Paint Calendar

Thanks to the unforeseen and overwhelming success of my Star Wars Pin Up Calendar, I am proud to announce that I have begun work on the next calendar project.

Along with Allyson Averell, I will be putting together a body paint calendar for 2013.

Each month will have a different geeky concept, all brought to life by the talented painting of Ally.

Stay tuned, as more photos will be added as the weeks and months continue. And if you have not already, please "like" Photography by Joey D to stay up to date on all information relevant to the calendar and it's progress.
